With Nancy Zwolanek serving as Editor-in-Chief and with Beverly Mose, Sue Lamb, Donna Jean Schmoll, and Elinor Larson, Assistant Editors, the best Senior Year Book to date is now in your hands. It has an attractive cover of blue threaded with gold. It has many pages of interesting reading, many pages of pictures, it gives a complete resume' of school activities for the year. It is an album of memories preserved for you through the coordinated efforts of members of the Echo Staff. It has meant long hours of cooperative effortg long hours of typing, stenciling, and duplicatingg dozens of letters soliciting adver- tising through which most of the cost is defrayed. We hope you will enjoy the Year Book and that in years to come, as you some- times turn its pages, pleasant memories of life at Port Byron High will awaken and you will relive your happy high school days. Nancy Zwolanek served the 1948 Echo Staff as their Editor-in- Chief. Nancy entered Port Byron High School in the fall of '44 from Port Byron Grade School. Buring her Freshman year she was a member of the Home Ec Club, GLA, and Pep Club. In her Sopho- more year she continued work in these organizations, was elected vice-president of the Home Ec Club and served on the Echo and Ink Spot Staffs. In her Junior year, she continued her member- ship in the Home Ec Club, which became the FHA, continued her work in the GLA, worked on the Echo Staff, and was again a mem- ber of the Pep Club. In her Senior year, she again joined the GAL, the FHL, was elected vice-president of the Senior Class, , and was Editor-in-Chief of both the Ink Spot and Echo. She was a member of the cast of both the Junior and Senior plays and had the leading part in the Lpril Operetta. Under Nancy's cap- able direction and organization the 1948 Year Book went to press earlier than in previous years and entailed for less work on the part of the sponsor than formerly. The Staff found in her a very efficient leader. Sue Lamb served as Staff Assistant. Sue entered High School in the fall of '44 from Uort Byron Grade School. In her Freshman year, she became a member of the GIA, the Home Ec Club, and the Pep Club, and served on the Echo Staff. During her Sophomore year, she continued her membership in these clubs and served a- gain on the Echo Staff. She was elected president of the Home Ec Club, served as a school librarian, and was a member of the Band. Ls a Junior, Sue became a member of the FHL, the GIA, the Pep Club, and continued work in the Band. In her Senior year, she continued work in the FHL, the Gil, was elected a cheerlead- er, and was chosen a representative of the Senior Class for Stu-
