Senior Class Play--NRime and Rime Againn On Friday evening, November 7, the Senior Class of 1948, under the direction of Marian Henry, presented a riotous three-act farce entitled WRime and Rime Again.n A cast of fifteen, most of whom were on the stage all of the time, kept the audience highly entertained as one laughable situation followed another in rapid succession. It all happens merely because young Jane Thomas CBeverly Mosel forgets to mail a letter for her mother, Agatha Thomas CNancy Zwolanek.D Now, that's a perfectly normal thing for a busy lit- tle girl to do, but it's surprising what a mix-up can result from a forgotten letter. For you see, this letter is addressed to a certain Mr. W. Shakespeare Tallfellow, a famous modern poet whom Mrsg Thomas has invited to speak to her intellectual friends. Not knowing that the letter hasn't been mailed, she announces the event in the local newspaper, much to the envy of her friends, especially Mrs. Duval, a divorcee, CJoan EckerD, her social ri- val. Although Mra Tallfellow isn't going to arrive and she will surely be the laughing stock of the town, that's just fine with Mr. Thomas CCarl Orrl who is strangely allergic to modern poetry, until he decides it's an opportunity to cure his wife of her love for poets and verse. So, unknown to her, he hires Gus Smith CWalt Bullj to impersonate Mr. Tallfellow. In the meantime, Jane, ignorant of her father's plan and not wanting to admit that she forgot to mail the letter, plots with Georgia CSue Lambl, her chum and constant companion, to find a way out. They persuade Johnny CBob Wainwrightl, the boy friend of Jane's sister Betty KDonna Jean Schmolll, to pretend hefs Mr. Tallfellow. Although Johnny dislikes poetry in particular and poets in general, he agrees to the plan to help Betty and her mother. Freddie Thomas CBob Daileyb, who's a scientific Ubugu, compli- cates things by pestering Bertie CDolores Murphyl, the Thomas's befuddled maid, until she finally loses her position and practi- cally her mind. Mrs. Thomas feels her social position is now assured by the pre- sence of Mr. Tallfellow, but it is jeopardized when the engage- ment of the poet and Mrs. Duval is announced. But tables are turned when the truth is known-Mr. Tallfellow is the town barber!
