Senior Memoirs On September 2, we Seniors, twenty-three in all, came back for our last year of high school. We missed Marilyn Marshall who had become Mrs. Ronald Coleman but welcomed James Barker from Albia, Iowa. During the year we lost Gleda Howard who moved to Hampton, Dolores Schafer who became Mrs. Roy Hess and moved to New Mexico, and Bailey Knorr who joined the Army Air Force. These withdraw- als reduced our enrollment to twenty. On September 5, we held our first Senior class meeting and elect- ed the following officers for the year: Rodney Whitesides, pres- ident, Nancy Zwolanek, vice-president, Robert Dailey, secretaryg Carl Orr, treasurer. We selected Sue Lamb, Alan Anderson, Lloyd Dailey, and Bailey Knorr to represent us on the Student Council. Marian Henry was our Sponsor. We Seniors received our class rings in September. We surely en- joyed displaying them to the Under Classmen who turned green with envy. On October 8, we Seniors, along with the Sophomores and Juniors, were entertained by the Freshmen at the annual Magazine Party in the gym. We Seniors were third in the contest. On October 17, the Senior class sat for pictures at Hawkins Stu- dio in Moline. All twenty-three students assembled in cars and made the trip southward, leaving at 9:00 and returning at various periods of the day! We gave our Senior Play on November 7--URime and Rime Ageinu--a riotious three-act farce directed by our Sponsor, Marian Henry. Donald Earhart, Rodney Whitesides, and Bailey Knorr represented the Senior class on the varsity basketball team and Walt Bull, Lon Earhart, Bob Wainwright, and Lloyd Dailey and Rodney White- sides helped the football squad retain the Two-Rivers trophy for the second year. On Npvember 13, we Seniors gave a farewell party at the home of Donna Jean Schmoll for Gleda Howard who was moving to Hampton. A scavenger hunt was the main event of the evening, after which we made popcorn balls and pulled taffy. Glade was presented with a purse of money. We Seniors held the annual all-school Christmas Party on December 19. The gym was gaily decorated in holiday colors with plenty of mistletoe in evidence. Cie aren't so dumb even though we are younglb Members of the Senior class presented a skit entitled NSchool Days,U Nancy Zwolanek took the part of the teacher, Joan Ecker, Beverly Hose, and Elinor Larson were three bashful little
