This is the National Creed of the FHA: We are the Future Homemakers of America. We face the future with warm courage, And high hope. For we have the clear consciousness of seeking Old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes- Homes for America's future- Homes where living will be the expression of everything That is good and fair- Homes where truth and love and security and faith Will be realities, not dreams. A We are the Future Homemakers of America. We face the future with warm courage And high hope. The emblem of the FHA is octagonal in shape and bears the name of the organization, NFuture Homemakers of America,U around the top of a plane while around the lower side is the motto, NTQ- ward New Horizons.n In the center is a house supported by two hands symbolizing the responsibility of youth in building and supporting the future homes of our land. The symbols--Key, Scroll, Torch, and Rose--are used to denote the four degrees of achievement--Junior Homemaker, Chapter Homemaker, State Home- maker, and American Homemaker. The distinguishing colors of red and white are symbolic of youth--youth which has courage and an unwavering determination to succeed, yet has innocence and purity and holds integrity as its highest virtue. The red rose, their flower, is symbolic of vibrant, glowing health--a necessary attribute for happiness and efficiency in home and group life. HToward New horizons,N the motto of Future Home- makers of America, expresses the purpose of the organization-- learning to live better today in order that our lives and those of our families may be better tomorrow. 'This is the Illinois State FHA Song From the Northern part of Illinois To the Southern part you'll see Home Ec Club girls are everywhere Ls happy as can be. We are willing to be helpers .Lnd to learn all we can For we will be the leaders Of this our native land. We will work for health and happiness And to keep our people free--- For helpful living everywhere Hill serve democracy. 'To the tune of NThe Marine's Hymn,U
