- ' l I'w- 'vw'---- - - . ,,.,1,., .,.,. ,,. Adios, Port Byron The members of the 1947 graduating class, together since their Freshman year, part reluctantly from life at Community High, In its halls and class rooms, close friendships have been formed, the joys of comradeship have been shared. Each year of high school life has cemented closer the ties which such daily association brings. But the end of four years of high school life means Hgraduationn and a parting of ways. Ties must be broken, old experiences give way to new, Fortunately our class, like the Class of '46, leaves high school to face a new era, the second peace-time year since the close of war on August 12, 1945. That period with its pain, death, and destruction lies behind us, 'New and peace- ful horizons stretch ahead. Many opportunities are ours, for in the continuing conversion from war to a peace-time era many doors stand ajar. As we leave Port Byron High in search of these opportunities, these new experiences-new fields of endeavor, new days, and new ways-we have tried to leave behind a record of our Senior year. We have sought to reveal the high lights of student life on the high school campus during '46 and '47. We hope it may become a memory album to be treasured throughout life. May it grow in value as the years go by. May it become a con stant reminder of the good times we shared together and in later years awaken fond memories of the companionships we knew. Then the l947 Echo will have served its purpose and will have justified the efforts of those who labored in its comnilation.
