The I947 Echo Staff To a small Staff, six in number, the success of this 1947 Echo is due. With Norma Frits and Jac Kerr working as Co- editors and Mildred Pearsall, Frances Peterson, Pat Walther and Roger Vickroy, assisting, the best Senior Year Book to date is now in your hands. It has an attractive cover-royal blue, the class color. It has many pages of interesting read- ing, many pages of pictures, it gives a complete resume' of school activities from September through Hay. It is an album of memories preserved for you through the coordinated efforts of the Echo Staff. It has meant long hours of cooperative drawing, of typing, stenciling and duplicating. It involves careful planning, the typing of many letters soliciting adver- tising through which most of the cost is defrayed. We hope you will enjoy the leer Book and that in years to come, as you sometimes turn its pages, pleasant memories of life at Port Byron High will awaken and you will relive your happy high school days. Norma Frits entered Port Byron High School in the fall of '43 from Port Byron Grade School. During her Freshman year she was elected class secretary, became a member of the Glee Club and Band, and served on both the Ink Spot and Echo Staffs. In her Sophomore year she became a member of the GAA, Home Ec Club, and continued her services on the Echo Staff. Again in her Junior year she was a member of the GAA, Home Ec Club, Band, and Pep Club and continued her work on the Year Book and Ink Spot Staffs. In her Senior year she joined the GAA, FHA, and Pep Club, and was co-editor of both the Ink Spot and Echo. She had parts in both the Junior and Senior plays. Norma is a dependable, willing worker, can assume responsibility, has initiative and resourcefulness. The Staff found in her a good leader and her efforts contributed in a great measure to the popularity and success of the 1947 student publication. Jacqueline Kerr entered Port Byron High School from Fairfield School in the fall of l943. In her Sophomore year she became active in school affairs, joining the Home Ec and Lramatics Clubs. During her Junior year she continued her membership in these clubs, joined the Pep Club and GAA and served on the Ink Spot and Echo Staffs. As a Senior, Jac continued to take an active part in all Pep Club and GAA activities and became a loyal and enthusuastic supporter of the school's athletic program. She is a member of the FHA and was chosen by the Senior class to represent them on the Student Council'and to her untiring efforts is due in no small part the marked success of the school publications this year as she has served as Edit-
