The Associa- s first activity was a Volley Ball Tournament on Novem- 7, to which the public was invited. The Seniors took place, Juniors second, Sophomores third, and Freshmen h. A Hobby Show was sponsored on December 5, the prize he most unusual and interesting hobby going to Marie He- for a paper napkin collection. On December 8, the Home on was the scene of a real HScramble Suppern with mem- enjoying ping-pong and dancing in the gym. On January he Association sponsored an all-school party honoring el Waters, Industrial Arts and history instructor. A tball Club was organized and members competed in the Telegraphic Basket-shooting Contest, rating second in tate. In inter-class basketball tournaments, first went to the Sophomores, second to the Juniors, third to eniors, sted of and fourth to the Freshmen. Spring activities baseball and archery, and the season closed with ernight camping trip. .L.A. w s discontinued during 1943 and '44 but resumed in the fall of '45 with Mary Lnn Kuester as sponsor. tober 25, the following officers were elected-president, yn Sidlingerg vice-president, Beverly Pannellg secretary urer, Virginia May, publicity chairman, Barbara Strangard. officers constituting the G.A.L. Cabinet. The Cabinet representatives from each class were guests of East Mo- in a joint meeting of East Moline, Moline, and Port Byron iations on November 6, and on December ll, invitations issued to four representatives of Port Byron G.L.A. to four from East Moline to witness the initiation of new rs from Moline Senior High. Jacqueline Kerr, Sue Lamb, Jean Schmoll, and Norma Jean Frits represented Port By- igh School. In a formal candlelight ceremony in the First dist Church, forty-three girls repeated the G.L.L. pledge: 'I promise to uphold the ideals of the G.A.A. y promoting interest in athletics and the out-of-doors, y living so that I may be healthy and strong, y making good sportsmanship a constant factor in my onduct.U ril 28, twelve members of the Lssociation were invited et with twelve each from Genesee, East Moline, Rock
