As a final initiation to incoming Fresh- men, all Uperclass boys formed a long line and all the Freshie boys were made toscoot under collective legs fast enough to escape being paddled, Needless to say there was considerable scooting, and the Staff is ready to bet that one or two Hun- fortunatesu stood up to eat their supper. 5 In the evening the Sophs entertained all high school students and teachers in honor of the Freshmen at a dancing party in the gym. Fight fans tuned in on the Joe Louis brawl while Joe defended his championship title. Refreshments of ice cream, doughnuts, salted peanuts, and fruit drink were served by the refreshment committee-Blee Luecke, Alice Clossin, Car- roll Searl, Duand Smith, Barbara Lewis, and Dorothy King. Phyllis Love, Marilyn Eckleberry, Wilma Hayes, Bob Wilson, Truman Langhofer, and Doris Carpenter served on the entertain- ment committee. Roger Lund, Nelda Hollister, Glen Bessert, Bill Frits, and Gloria Brall served on the decoration commit- tee. Members of the clean-up committee were Ruth Thomsen, Elinor Bib, Betty Cain, Frank Sample, and Bennett Watkins,
