CLASS HISTORY Two o clock one mormng I quletly stumbled xnto the house Findtng the televxston set on I sank gratefully mto the nearest chaxr becom1ng engrossed m a late late movte As the mov1e progressed I became less Interested Yawn The chan' was just tooo comfortable to leave Yawn Suddenly the words INSIDE PORT BYRON CENTRAL YEAR 1940 flashed across the screen Immed1ately the scenery began to look farruhar and lbegan recogmzmg faces Well for heaven sakes there 1S Joan Andrews Bob Hlcks Helen De Bortts and Teresa Mazzeo The two cute blondes must be Frleda Snyder and Jane Elltott C11 and there 1S cute little F rankle Dalesxo surrounded by Kate Denman Eleanor Schwetzer Esther Mtlls Phylhs Marsden Ruth Saxton Jean Van 1-lout Eleanore Tlerson and Suzanne Southworth The camera wandered to the far Slde of the room Whose faces should appear on the screen but Carol Warren s and Johnny Wenzel s In the next scene the camera focused on three httle g1rls Marte Jenks Jane Laraway and Mar Jorxe Ball Following close behmd them car ry1ng lunch pa1ls were Laverne Mtller R1chard An 1mage appeared on the screen Sllllllg on the edge of my chalr Irecogmzed Ronnte Somerv1l1e and H E Casey Jr COITl1l'lg to Jotn the second grade class They wore short pants As the mov1e progressed and the years passed we saw three httle g1rls comtng toward us w1th su1tcases 1n hand Who could the httle darlxngs be but Sharon L1ll1e and Mary Inskxp ha1l1ng from Auburn Along wlth them was Florence Keenly tlred from her long trlp from Syracuse. I soon began to wonder who everyone was mak1ng a fuss about Much to my amazement xt was Leroy Bates the geruus of the class who slupped f1fth gr ade. I could hardly beheve my eyes when I saw El1zabeth Marsh transferrtng from Un1on Sprmgs and Charles Carr1s bumnung h1s way down from Auburn And lookl There IS Merr1tt Janes from Baldwtnsvllle Oh what beaut1ful ha1r It couldn t belong to any other than Marilyn Isbell who jomed us 1n our freshman year from Onondaga Central. At lastl Weedsport fmally gave us somethmg ln strolled Gary Emerson the cute curly hatred boy who came ln h1s Sophomore year to make our class complete Wanung a better look at Gary I turned suddenly Htttmg the floor wtth a thump, I was w1de awake Reahzmg the IC18VlSlOIl had gone off the a1r I went to bed I Masson, and Richard Jordon . . . . . .
