STUDYING FAR AWAY FRIENDS In this grade there is a general- ization of all activities, despite the three divided grades. Because of the crowded conditions, the third grade has moved upstairs. Here the children start simple addition, subtraction and multi- plying by one number. Also, Social Studies are introduced to serve as a background for further study. In all such fields. the stu- dent is urged to'work independ- ently. Spelling, Art and Science also become familiar to the pupils of the third grade. Projects are indulged in, and the annual trip to the Auburn Museum is looked forward to by every child. Study and Art pre- cede this trip. Row 1: L. Dutcher, R. Granger, C. Chisholm, R. Smith, K.
