PIRATES Port Austin Public School Port Austin, Michigan Editors Jackie Parks Tim Loewe The Class of 68 wished to take this opportunity, the Dedication of our annual, to show our respect for Mr. Bernard Goretski, and to ex- press our gratitude and appreciation for his loyal support as our junior class sponsor. His patience and assistance were the greatest assets to our class projects. We'd especially like to thank him for his help in cleaning fish and making our fish fry the greatest success ever. Our thoughts of Mr. Goretski as class sponsor, teacher, and friend will always be pleasant ones. 2 FACULTY Luther M. Lamb Superintendent Geometry Fhilip K. Sharon Hewitt decided that she wanted to travel. She is now a First Sergeant in the WACS. Mike Green went back to Texas and has become a modern cowboy. He heads for round-up on his 400 horse power cycle-plane. Joe Finan is the newest face in the wrestling profession. He's known as Fearless Joe Terrible. Denise Sosnoski has done what everyone expected. She married a farmer and milks 20 cows every morning and night. IN MEMORY OF FRANK E. DODGE February 18, 1968 dawned brightly over the U.S. To most people it was a beautiful day. But to many residents throughout Huron county, it was a day of remorse and sadness, Frank E. Dodge, 69, a Huron county resident and educational admin- istrator for the past 20 years, died of a heart attack Sunday, February 18, 1968. To the students and faculty of Port Austin High, the sorrow was much more intense. Mr. Dodge was a daily part of our lives. He was our super- intendent. Moreover, he was also our friend and counselor. And though Mr. Dodge has passed away, the wonderful memories we have of him lingers on. Still in the hearts of many, Mr. Dodge is a man we will never forget. 15 MOCK ELECTION APPLE POLISHERS MOST ATHLETIC SHYEST MOST STUDIOUS BEST ALL AROUND 16 LAZIEST UNDERGRADS JUNIORS DEMONSTRATE APTITUDE, ENTHUSIASM G.
