His duties and responsibilities are great in giving' leadership and direction to 11 staff of IZ5 employees. Mrs. Thelma Vail is secretary to the super- intendent. and assists with the aeeountingr work. To our prineipal, Mr. Ray NVarren, we leave the solving' of the million and one daily prob- lems eoneerningr sehool and studiesg among these are the scheduling of the students, teach- ers, sehool ealendar. assemblies, and tezieliers' meetings. An all 21l'0lllld helperv is the competent viee-principal, Mr. Conner Reed, who is ad- visor of both Pep Flub and Student Couneil. Week-ends he is always to be found supervising the pep dances: likewise, after sehool, you will find him in charge of the detention room. The Board of Directors, consisting of Mr. llarold Ruthruff, President: Mrs. Fred Radke, Vice-President: Mrs. Victoria Halberg, Mr. Walter Scott, and Dr. Quentin Kintner, is elected by the people to establish the policies, rules and regulations for the operation of the pnlmlie schools. and to employ a superintendent to advise and confer with them on carrying out the policies oi' the board. They have been very active the past few years in planning the new high school-junior college buildings and new elementary schools. The members, chosen by the people, serve without pay or thought of remuneration and give many hours of their time each year to the schools. Director ot' night school. and a commercial course teacher is Mr. llonald Sleeper, who also spent much ot' his limited time as boys' place- ment director. -Miss Merle Vowling spent a llllSy year in dealing with problems and activities as Senior class advisor, and acted as advisor to the larg- est. and most. active club in the school, the tlirls' Vlulm.
