'llhe Jiuiiors' reniarkable perform- ance of the hilarious play, HTl1e Canni- bal Queen, made its presentation a complete sueeess. The plot centers around Allen Kent CPeter Sibbaldl who falsely tells a ricl1 uncle QSidney Smithl he is bringing' home a cannibal queen from the Solo- mon Islands. Allen's friend, Bruce Clyde Cliarry Uayanusl. a newspaper reporter, learns about it and enriches the story with a fake queen C-loan llritehfieldj and her retainers Qlionda Barnard a11d Larry Eymanb. Wlieii the real queen, Ju Ju fBeVerly Pinordl, appears unexpectedly the plot really becomes complicated. This fast action comedy was under the competent direction of Mr. Robert Stocking Who Was ably assisted by pro- duction manager, Frances Richard, and her various committees. As the cry 'ffioldln echoed across the country, all classes of people hur- ried from different direetionsg so the ring of three bells beckons all students to an assembly at R-.H.S. A large variety of programs was planned for the edueation and entertainment of the students. During this year the assemblies were outstanding' in the portrayal of interest and purpose, due in part to the number of National Assemblies which were pre- sented. These types of assemblies gave students a chance to see more and bet- ter presentations at a reasonable price. Of most enjoyment to the students were the pep assemblies before the games which encouraged the players to do their best for the school and urged the students to support them. How well they did this job ean best he judged hy onr ree- ord of five NVl1lS and three losses. This is 21 Very good average eonsidering that two of the losses were to the top teams i11 the state. ln the lieagne we finished in third plaee. The hardest fought gaine of the year was with B21l1llll'iLlg'0. After see-sawing' lmaek and forth in the eenter of the field for three and a half quarters, finally, with two ininntes to play, they pnnehed over a tonehdown whieh was ealled baek on a penalty. Two plays later, with tiine running' ont, Danny Donahue whipped a pass to Jerold Banner who sprinted forty yards to seore. To he long re1ne1n- hered was the battle whieh ealne a week later when we went down in defeat to Kelso, one of tl1e state 's hest teams, 25 to O. The highest seoring' gaine of the year was our 231 to 0 defeat of onr tra- ditional riyals the Sdlllllll Wlolyes. A in VY 4 swnarrass '- PURIFIED WOOD cs, R IILGSE USE FOR Highly purified wood cellulose is one of the Country's most important chemical raw materials. More than eighty per cent of all the vist!Uss rayon and acetate yarns produced in this country' are made from ' . These yarns find their way intpefhe daily livingof everyonef ifman ,types of wearing apparel fur men, Wnrnenqaixd children -L and in a wide variety of other familiar articlis. ' W' , ly The tire nfanufacturers usc'purified wood cellulose in increasingly large quantities in the formgof high-strength viscose rayon cords and fabrics th,a.t lengthen the lives of automobile and truck tires. Cellophane is made from purified wood cellulose, and so is another widely used transparent packaging material-cellulose acetate sheet and film. ' Photographic film and paper--vulcanized fibgr--lacquers-and many other related products also are made from this basic raw material. ' , Supplying highly purified wood cellulose produced by chemical processes is Rayonier's job. A large part of the wood we use comes from our own forest properties, which are under management that keeps them continuously productive. Research by our scientists has resulted in a number of types of wood cellulose, each developed to give best results in making the end products for which it is used.
