The fair takes place in the beginning of August. Kris competed with five other girls from the schools in McKean County. The girls made appearances each day during the week of the fair. On Saturday, the final day of the fair, the girls competed in a talent show which determined who was to become the new 1973-1974 McKean County Fair Queen. Kris performed a Hawaiian hula dance for the talent portion of the program. The program was ended with the crowning of Kris as the 1973-1974 fair queen by last year's queen Joni Foster, also of Port Allegany. 133 134 135 W2£fTV (Top) Charlie Becker races official to end zone with fumble recovery. This school year the paper was printed each month in the local newspaper, the Reporter-Argus. Stories for the newspaper included important school news items such as Homecoming and the Prom, sports scoops, and a host of features; short stories, puzzles, questionaires, riddles and editorials. Special activities included the annual Press Day trip to St. Bonaventure, where for a day, a student could elect classes in various journalistic techniques. Of course, the greatest benefit to the students in the Press Club this year was the experience gained in publishing their own newspaper. 163 164 PITTSBURGH CORNING Port Allegany, Pa. 16743 165 Port Allegany, P Port Allegany, Pa.
