Together, they and other members of the SCA led such fundraisers as Heart-to-Heart and the Holly Ball. The years roll by, the stars shine on, Friends that we knew, all long since gone. But memories remain, keeping us strong. The values of rights outweighing the wrong. Sail on ship, sail on. The future lies over the horizon, The past fades in receeding waves. Prim and proper, sweet and good, If mother only knew, if Daddy could see, doing what mother said | should. what I really happen to be. Daddy’s little girl, cute and shy. A rebel with no cause, non-conforming I never thought to reason why. for a day. It’s only a part, a piece in a play. Now for convention, | really don’t care. I paint my face and let down my hair. The day decends just as fast as it rose, I sparkle with glitter and leave my legs | wash the glitter and change from my bare, clothes. actions before | never would dare. Though | laugh on the outside, | weep in my soul, tears of rage I cannot control. I’m not what I seem, but I’m all that | am, I can’t blame you if you don’t understand. | express my beliefs though I say not a word. My message is there, waiting to be heard. You, who know me so well, just know my name. You know my appearance, but it isn’t the same. There isn’t a person who knows me as well, as the stranger | meet and then bid farewell. Faces The faces change as the years go by, At least that’s what they say, But each and every face I see Stays with me day to day. As years are thrown upon our backs in that endless race with time. It began with a general test given to all interested students. When the results were known, the four highest scoring students from each class were chosen to represent their grade in the school Academic Bowl. The class of 1984 triumphed in the in-school competition for the second consecutive year. The four highest scores from throughout the entire school were chosen to represent Poquoson High School in the Tidewater Challenge and they showed their spirit by beating all other schools in the competition and by winning the Finals. Poquoson High School is very proud of its representatives: Sean Jackson, Dean Myers, Greg Griswald, and captain, Paul Schillaci. At a special pep rally, Mr. Day was honored and thanked by the faculty and the students who have worked with him through the years. Poquoson High School misses Mr. Day and we wish him all the best in the future. A good time was had by all and the well-known couple Miles Zasmowich and Danette Halloway captured the prom king and queen crowns. 1983 was also the first year that breakfast was served to se- niors and their dates after the prom.
