f4trf(vuj Norman Paul, President; Ronald Moore, Vice-President; Ruben Firth, Treasurer; Kay Quinn, Secretary. As the sound of Pomp and Circumstance filled the air, the graduating class of 1957 began to realize that the end of a career was near. As the class walked up the aisle, memories of previous years at P.H.S. swept over them. The class entered P.H.S. as Freshmen in September 1953; Norman Paul was elected President and Roane Hunt was elected S.C.A. Representative. Beverly Cook and Janet Padget were chosen to represent the class in the Mav Day Festivities. A more confident group of boys and girls entered P.H.S. as Sophomores the next fall. The officers that were elected are as follows: President, Norman Paul; Vice-President, Freddy Riggins; Secretary, Douglas Williams, Jr.; Treasurer, Felton Graham, and S.C.A. Representative, Harvey Herring. The class sponsored a St. Patrick ' s Day Dance to earn money. As Juniors the class entered P.H.S. in September with the knowledge that they were to assume more responsibility and to participate in more activities. To lead the class, the following people were elected: President, Freddy Riggins; Vice-President, Mary Estelle Page; Secretary, Ronald Moore; Treasurer. Kay Quinn, and S.C.A. Representatives, Harvey Herring and Norman Paul. This year the class gave a Sock Hop” to make money for the Junior-Senior Prom. Our school rings came the last of March. These rings were proudly shown around for weeks. The biggest affair of the year took place on the fourteenth of May, the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was Hawaiian Cruise. Under the guidance of Mr. Mrs. Collins the prom turned out to be one of the most successful proms given at P.H.S. In September 1956. the class entered P.H.S. as Seniors, full of hopes and plans for a successful year. The Islander. Island Echo, and S.C.A. were soon gotten under way with the management and guidance from the Senior sponsors, Mrs. Freeman and Mr. Shores. The officers of the Senior class were: President, Norman Paul; Vice-President. Ronahl Moore; Sec- retary, Kay Quinn; Treasurer, Ruben Firth; S.C.A. Representatives, Mary Estelle Page and Linda Forrest. The day for ordering class pins, invitations, calling cards and thank you” notes soon came, only to make the class realize that graduation was very close. As the Class of 1957 move on to take their places in the outside world or to continue their training, they carry with them many happy memories of tlieir school days. Most treasured among these are the friend- ships developed here — heaven’s truest, dearest gift to mankind. This page sponsored bv w. c. SAUNDERS CO. JEWELLERS Richmond, Va.
