CLASS HISTORY Luve and Learn us a wonderful motto for any group Thus motto chosen un our freshman year affected our luves here and wull contunue to unfluence us throughout lufe Before we say good by to our school we want to recount some of the happy, and sad events of our hugh school days In September T949 we, a group of tremblung eughth graders, furst walked unto the halls of Poquoson Hugh ln the audutoruum Mr Thomas unstructed us un the do s and don ts of the year Our class was duvuded unto three sectuons, under Mrs Carrue Moore, Muss Buntung, and Mr Cox, to whom was assugned most of the boys When our classes were organuzed we soon became a recognuzed part of the hugh school We chose, as presudent, Sally Fush for class colors green and whute class flower, carnatuon and motto, Luve and Learn The most notable socual event of the year, was our class plc mc at Huntungton Park, followed by a movue at a druve un theater The day ended wuth a never to be forgotten clumax we returned home, forgettung two members of our party Mary Louuse Hudguns and her escort May Day T950 was an outstandung occasuon Rose Dale Forrest represented our class un the court We returned to school In September l95O full fledged Freshmen, eager to help unutuate the eughth grade Now our class took a more actuve part un clubs and sports offered to us Four of our gurls were cheerleaders Sudney Pauls was honored wuth the class presudency Phyllus Wulluamsond Peggy Furman were our representatuvesun the May Day Celebratuon Thus year we went on apucnuc supper, to Buckroe Beach where, later that evenung we also enloyed the park amusements ln l95lwe returned toP H S thus tume as Sopomores Sudney Pauls served as presudent another year We were proud that several of our class made the basketball team Hattue Evans and Annette Moore represented ourclass un the May Court Rememberung the preceedung year at Buckroe, we returned there for our class celebratuon Is the Junuor year the happuest of hugh school lufe? We felt thus to be true when we re turned un September T952 Realuzung there was much work to be done, we wasted no tume an gettung organuzed For the thurd year Sudney Pauls served as Presudent Fred Lee served as Vuce Presudent Dennus Shuelds Treasurer and Hattue Evans Secretary lmmeduately we be gan our plans for the lunuor senuor prom, whuch was to be guven May 29 un the hugh school gym A most memoruable day was that on whuch we ordered our class rungs, a happuer day March I0 T953 on whuch the rungs arruvedl For May Day wechose Vuola Forrest, and Marulyn Holloway Betty Lanaham gave the Junuor Response ln reluvung the events of our Junuor yearwe are sadly remunded of the loss of Jane Meadows, one of our good fruends and fellow classmates To be Senuorsl That us a wonderful feelung, for now our goal us almost attauned This year we elected Dennus Shuelds, Presudent Mary Foster, Vuce Presudent Fred Lee, Secretary Hattue Evans, Treasurer Sudney Pauls began hus duty as S C A Presudent, and we were kept busy workung up our school paper and yearbook and orderung callung cards, unvutatuons, puns and we are lookung forward to other worthwhule events that wull take place before that nught un June, when we wull no longer be a group of 36 sensors, but a group of young men and wo men goung forth to face the world to luve and learn how best we may serve our fellow men and ourselves 17 N . ,I . . . . . . . . . . .
