ANN CLUVERIUS Pres d nt BOBBY FORREST Vuce Presud nt 'i'4Q-...,, NANCY DE NEUFVILLE Secretary Treasurer CIASS HISIIIHI As uf from a dream I heard Mr Thomas call my name Slowly I got up and receuved my duploma and nus congratulatrons I could feel tears trucklung down my cheeks as I sat down un my chaur Thus was what I had worked for fuve long years Yet now they seemed only as munutes flyrng through the space of tume Why when I close my eyes I can even see those fuve years We were so happy on that brught sunny mornung September 6 l945 as we walked unto the halls of Poquoson Hugh School We looked very dustun guushed wuth Iupstsck on our faces scurryung thus way and that lost un the masses of students Joe Buntung was elected as our leader for that year Oh' We really had fun on that weuner roast even thougw the weuners had been for gotten Everyone was so proud of our Freshmen Chorus when they made such a wonderful ratung at the Musuc Festuval September I946 agaun met us on our way to Poquoson as Freshmen We elected Catherune Cullukun as our leader for thus year Funally we had learned our way around school and were really tryung to take advantage of ut Our Freshmen Dance was one of the spotlughts of the year The furst May Day sunce l94I was held Catherune Cullukun and Nancy de Neufvulle represented our class un the court We entered rn September I947 wuth a brughter look than ever before We were funally Sophomores To add to that great feelung we learned that we C-ullukun was agaun elected Presudent of our class We ordered our class rungs and thought we were as good as graduated After weeks of workung our Chrustmas Danc was sponsored and ended up to be a wonderful success Evangelune Fox Jeannune Ward and Aulsa Braud represented us un the May Court Then came that nught of Aprul 23 when we sponsored the bug Junuor Senuor Prom for the outgoung Senuors Everythung was sumply beautuful and the band was so dreamy Everyone hated to go home We entered our Junuor year un September I9-48 Our Senuor rungs came and we walked around holdung our hands out for unspectuon John Patterson was elected to head our class and Joe Buntung headed our Student Government Thurty fuve of us became Safety Patrol members wuth Bobby Forrest as Cap taun Catherune Cullukun was elected May Queen wuth Jeannune Ward and Roselyn Pauls as Mauds of Honor Clorua Craham Aulsa Braud Nancy de Neuf vulle and Sue Holloway were class repre entatuves un the Court Our Sprung Dance was the largest dance un the hustory of our class The Junuor play Aunt Tullue Coes to Town proved to be a great success On September 9 I949 we entered the last rounds of our career as stu dents at Poquoson We were Senuors the hughest class un school Ann Cluveruus was elected as our class leader Our Safety Patrol consusted of thurty sux mem bers wuth Catherune Cuullukun as captaun Otus Buntung was elected edutor un chuef of the Annual under the sponsorshup of Muss Moore and Mr Baker The Talent Show was a howlung success especually wuth those black faced Senuor gurls un short skurts The Junuo s gave us the Prom thus year Our Senuor play proved to be one of the best ever guven The Band got new unuforms and were the sharpest ever seen Our unvutatuons and puns were receuved When our Annual arruved everyone had wruter s cramp Then the days of practuce for graduatuon Caps and gowns were handed out by Mrs Freeman and Mrs Rob unson our class sponsors Fufty sux of us recesved duplomas Slowly I opened my eyes My classmates were rusung I got to my feet and to the strauns of musuc walked off the stage and out of the doors of my Alma Mater Poquoson Hugh School Readung wrutung and aruthmetuc sessuons are over but beyond the blue lues an even greater work that of lufe I2 7 . . . . I 2 ' , I ' - by W ' A . P . were going to have a band at Poquoson, the first to be organized. Catherine - , Q ' e . . C . . .
