STUDENT GOVERNMENT The Student Government this year continued its eleventh year of suc- cessful operation. The officers of the Student Government were elected by popular vote of the entire student body and the representatives were elected by popular vote of each class. The aims and objectives of the Student Government for the year of 1 947 were: Red Cross Drives, Infantile Paralysis Drive, Bangles for Tuberculosis Drive, and improving the school buildings and grounds. At Christmas, gift packages were prepared by the students of different homerooms and sent to various branches of services in Virginia. Opening exercises, which were held daily, under the supervision of each homeroom teacher, included the reading of the Bible and the Lord ' s prayer. NINE
