DEDICATION We, the Senior class, dedicate this, the XII volume of the York Chronicle to our leader through four years of high school life, Mr. Norris L. Thomas. We leave this small t oken in dedication to all the things for which he stands: his undying and all important leadership, his good will and understand- ing, and above all his ability and willingness to give us any advice we needed. We are proud that we have the privilege of pay- ing tribute to this man who has led and will con- tinue to lead us and our fellow students of Poquoson High School. THREE

POQUOSON HIGH SCHOOL fOflPJJJOWJ This annual belongs to you, the boys and girls who compiled it. The pictures in it are those you may show your children and grandchildren in the future. You will probably laugh along with them at the funny clothes and shoes and hairstyles you and your friends wore. Even though you may laugh, you will think of the fun and freedom that was yours in those days. The pictures of your school chums and teachers will prob- ably make a tear fall from your eyes as you turn through the pages, wishing that you could relive those happy days. TWO

jfl iimam] In order to commemorate our fellow students who have left their homes and taken up arms that democracy might live, we, the students and faculty of Poquoson High School, leave this, the 1946 edition of the York Chronicle, as a small monument to their heroic sacrifice. We are deeply indebted to the courageous and relentless spirit which these boys and girls, who graduated from Poquoson High School, have shown in their efforts to preserve the peace that we have today. They have proved again that the youth of this nation is willing to fight and die to protect our fundamental principles — Liberty and Justice for all.
