One of our most important depart- ments of P.B.H.S. is that of Social Studies, for it is here that we learn what is expected of us as future citizens. In each of these classes, American History, World History, Government, Missouri History, Sociology, all teaching centers around the individual. Studies are made of the world to develop understanding and tolerance. In all classes the democratic principle is kept inthespotlight, showing that America's greatness lies in its belief in democracy. Mr. Acre, Mr. Kinder, Mrs. Osborn, Miss Aldrich, Mr. Fortner, and Miss Statler are all striving to build and to instill a desire for a more complete and useful life in our four systems - political, economic, social, and religious.
