N t R. LOUCIHEAD To George R. Loughead, superintendent of the schools of Poplar Bluff, whose personal interest, high ideals, and integrity, have long merited the respect and recognition of the people of the vicinity, the Staff, with appreciation for his services and with esteem for him personally, dedicatcs the 1950 publication of the Bluff. He has endeavored to accom- plish that which is most beneficial for our school system and has by his inclination and determined spirit been able to make outstanding achieve- ments in the field of education. An interesting personality, Mr. Loug- head is known as a man with dignity and as one who is thoughtful of his associates. So it is with pride and sincerity that the Bluff Staff dedi- cates the 1950 yearbook to George R. Loughead.

FOREWORD The l950 edition of The Blulf has been compiled and published with the sole purpose of providing the stu- dent body with a collection of memories of the years which they have spent at Poplar Bluff Senior High School--those years which should have been among the happiest ones of their lives. lt has been the sincere de- sire of the Staff to produce a yearbook which would portray high school life in its various aspects-its mo- ments of seriousness as well as its times of fun. If, in the coming years, this book affords a pleasant moment of reminiscence our goal will have been achieved
