SENIOR CLASS HISTORY fC0nt1nuedl Councrl were Donna Mank1n Jamce Farmer and Janet Clanahan We chose Ruth Banks Marrlyn Ethrrdge and Lanelle Mrzell to represent our class lll the drrve for Basketball Queen We had three second team cheerleaders Sh1rley Gard Sandra Gard and Donna Mank1n To begrn the second year of our four year struggle we elected Lewrs Bowles Presrdent Janrce Frrtch Vrce Presrdent and Srdney Bonnell Treasurer Our Student Councrl Representatrves were Janet Clanahan Donna Mankrn and Janrce Farmer For the srxty four class members we had Mrs Adkerson and Mrs Trovrlhon as sponsors Donna Mankrn and Shrrley Gard were very excrted when they were notrfred that they were second team cheerleaders Candrdates for Basketball Queen were Jean May nor Janet Clanahan and Sandra Gard ln 1958 we were Junrorsl We rmmedrately began to feel our heads swell We were upper classmen at last' Our class offrcers were Presrdent Laura Mae Hobbs V1ce Presrdent Susan Walter Secretary Janlce Frrtch and Treasurer Marrlyn Ethrrdge Our Student Councrl representatrves were Sandra and Shrrley Gard and Marrlyn Ethrrdge Our sponsors Mrs Wagley and Mrs Quarant lnformed us that we had two years to go We soon settled down and started to work on our Junlor play The Babblrng Brooks whrch we presented on October 24 1958 To cheer our team to vrctory we elected Donna Mankrn Sandra Gard and Sh1rley Gard Marllyn Ethrrdge was mard of honor and Donna Swrnford and Jean Maynor were ladres rn wartrng rn the Basketball Queen s court On Aprrl 17 we gave the Senrors a novel Junror Senror Piom on the U S S Avalon To lead us rn our last and most rmportant year were our sponsors Mrs Trampe and Mrs McClusky As rn precedrng years our cheerleaders were Sandra and Shrrley Gard and Donna Mankrn Our basketball players were Kenneth Barger Kenneth Rrchards Gene Krlpatrrck and Barney Butler After three trres luck was wrth us and the class of 1960 was honored by havrng IIS Mard of Honor Lanelle Mlzell chosen as Basketball Queen Marrlyn Ethrrdge and Janet Clanahan were rn her court The last of our four year perrod we elected Janrce Frrtch Presrdent Jean Maynor V1ce Presrdent Susan Walter Secretary and Wanda Mason Treasurer Student Councrl Representatrves were Janet Clanahan Marrlyn Ethrrdge and Kenneth Rrchards We are lookrng for ward to present1ng the Senror Play and especrally to going on the Sen1or Trrp Thrs concludes the hrstory of the Graduates of 1960 Susan Walter Secretary 1 g . 1 1 . .
