FIRST ROW: Richard Jones, Susan Patterson, Carolyn Ray, Shelia Payne, Marge Ann Bridges, Nancy Bridgeman, Tommy Wood, SECOND ROW: Tom Rackley, Gene Owen, Butch Wylie, Don Fauver, Coach Turner Steve Jones, Ben Patterson, Danny Hooker, and Jimmy Owen, I Coach Gene Turner was the coach of this year's track team, PHS Athletes Hav Track season was a time of great excitement, The previous years' experience strengthened the team and brought glory to Pontotoc High. Much credit is due the track- sters themselves, and certainly much of the credit should go to the coach.

Joe Roberson--baseball coach, 'heir Best: Win or Lose With the returning seniors and the promising underclass- men, the Fighting Warrior nine hoisted their bats to their shoulders, and took to the field at the sound of play ball. Then the crack of the bat, a sliding Warrior, and inspired fans became as much of Warrior baseball as clogged cleats, sweaty brows, and dusty uniforms were to all baseball. The diamondmen hustled, worked hard, and came out with booming batting averages and a successful season once again this year. The Fighting Warriors showed the Warrior toughness and sportsmanship in their defeats as well as their victories that is characteristic of all Warrior athletics. l FIRST ROW: Tim Herndon, Mitchell Pound, Randy Wood, Randy Jones, Tom Rackley, David Patton, Bobby Q Stafford, SECOND ROW: Richard Jones, Ben Patterson, Steve Jones, Danny Hooker, Kenneth Cummings, Sammy Wilson, Tommy Wood, and Coach Roberson

A r l TENNIS TEAM-FRONT ROW: Steve Akins, Kenneth Prewitt, Steve Davis, Bill Guyton, SECOND ROW: Millicent I Shannon, Pam Pitts, Mr, John McMi1lin, Sherrie Weatherly, and Linda Kenney, Successful Season l 1 Mr. John McMillin - Tennis Instructor l I The PHS Tennis Team of 1966 worked hard and practiced many hours to reach their goals, The entire team placed second overall at the Little Ten Tennis Tournament at Oxford. Millicent Shannon and Pam Pitts placed second in the girls' doubles. The second place in girls' singles was captured by Sherrie Weatherly. The team competed with other teams at New Albany, Tupelo, Aberdeen, West Point, and Houston, 17
