Assisi? . 'Ffa-v 'J' Even with the many duties connected with the operation of our school, our superintendent, Mr. Wayne C, Leech, finds time for community affairs. He is now serving as presidentof the Rotary Club, superintendent of the Methodist Sunday School, member of the Executive committee of the Yocona Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, vice-chairman of the Separate School Districts Division of Mississippi School Ad- ministrators Association, He is an ardent sportsman and spends many of his leisure hours on the lakes and streams of North Mississippi, Another busy person about school is the secretary, Mrs. Hortense Caldwell. She, too, finds time for other activities. She is never too busy to take part in church functions, Eastern Star work, or in any community activity. She travels, swims, and skates, This is proof sufficient that from the administra- tion on down our leaders are not legendary ogres, but human beings because they have fun! v U RTW' fi, 'U' J G7 um 3' l'rojec'ts . . . The next game was with Amory. The War- riors had a hard time doing it, but a rough game of control football gained them a touchdown edge over the Amory Panthers and set the stage for an all-out battle with the Oxford Colonels for the following Friday. The Colonels turned recovered fumbles into a pair of touchdowns for a 14-6 triumph over our Warriors. The next game was another victory for our boys with our eleven turning back the Houston Hilltoppers 27-7. Our Homecoming game was played with West Point. The score was a dandy 26-0 for the Warriors who played a jam-up ball game against the heavier lads from Clay County, The next weekend found the Warriors furnish- ing opposition for New Albany 's homecoming af- fair, Displaying potential football power in three deep positions, the Warriors scattered the New Albany Bulldogs 41-0. In one ofthe best games ever, the Warriors literally whipped the Grenada Bulldogs down to size, and then cut them apart to take a fast hold on the Number One position in the Little Ten Conference with a 13-6 victory.
