The Public library, erected on the corner of Main and Howard Streets, provides residents with modern reading facilities. High school students make good use of the library especially in the evening. Erected in 1893, this building was once Pontiac's storehouse of books, In 1905 the city was thc leading educational center of Liyingston County. It had four public schools, a township high school, and St. Mary's school. Faculty, Curriculum, Classes 26-79 XVhen thc last school bell rings and summer vacation begins . . . Students will head for their favorite spots along the Vermillion River, such as this one near the Vermillion Street Bridge. Stumps are from elm trecs killed by Dutch Elm Disease.
