fat! fwLn YOUO wore! flzeme, clue fomowow 94 En gl1sh Did you ever stop to think that uc four hundred and twenty five students have one thing in common' Well we do' We all must pass three years of English to graduate Whether we have Miss Garrity Miss Karl, Mrs Kipfer or Miss May the courses are generally thc same Our freshman year we have one semester of literature We have book reports and good books whether they be the kind we taste or the kind we chew and svn allovn As our sophomore year closes we cover a similar but stiffer course and naturally we re all twice as 1ntell1 gent OJ Then the Junior year rolls around all too quickly If we make at least a B average we may register in sideline courses of English such as journalism and speech If we dont keep our nose to the grlndstone we register in English III which combines literature compost tion and grammar Seniors at last the college bound scholars may enter Miss Garritys English IV class Here we are introduced to the tops in English poetrv novels, drama and essays In the spring we have a six weeks refresher course in grammar so we are ready for college the next fall you guessed it more English Freshies display their good work on the board.
