Russell Tenth Grade Principal - , 2 .a lt ,,, , 1 fs The academic achievement and perfect attendance record established by the great Class of '88 is exciting. Many of you have shown that you are concerned about your future, and are willing to make sacrifices to achieve excellence. You are commended for the fine showing on the first marking period honor rolls. Not only are you listed on the Principal's all A Honor Roll, but eighty of you comprise the three-point and above honor roll. Perfect attendance by one hundred fif- ty-four of you showed that you were ready to assume responsibility In subsequent marking periods, numbers will increase because you believe in yourselves. Class President Brett McGee, Vice President Lloyd Tyson, Secretary Annjell Williams, and Treasurer Iac Mansour worked diligently to provide strong leadership. Good luck and keep in mind that, You Make a Difference in Reaching for Excellence. is A, ,,, ....,........,a..-.,. -.

The dividends realized are usually commensurate to the investment. Those, who invest little, receive a low yield, whereas, those who are active, knowledgeable participants, enjoy a substantial return. Being successful in the field of education is frequently more dependent on attitudinal factors than natural ability This is why the necessity for parental X student involvement in both curricular and extracurricular concerns during all of the students' high school years is stressed. It is believed that those who get more involved in school activities likewise experience a more positive attitude that enhances a better academic performance. The eleventh grade class has been exposed to tutelage throughout this year that will enable them to have an extremely rewarding and successful senior year. Additionally the skills they have acquired, and will continue to acquire at Pontiac Central Senior High School, will allow each student to be competitive in the job market and posses a confidence that is vitally essential in the world of work. I consider it a privilege to have worked with this class and sincerely hope that my role has been one of allowing each Junior to grow into the mature, responsible, young adult they have the potential of becoming. This year, as in all my previous years as an educator, I base all my efforts on the belief there can be no better investment than that which we put into our youth to- day
