' ix? V j X In order to succeed, one must have able leaders. In order to achieve action, one must have leaders who are active. This year, Pontiac Central students were fortunate enough to have an action team to lead them. The action team set a goal for itself and the students of this school. That goal was to lead not only academically and scholastically, but in the realm of behavior as well. And lead they did. Pontiac Central's 1968 Action Team consisted of, newly appointed principal, Garth Errington formerly with the Albion public schools, Assistant Principal Donald McMillen, trans- ferring to Central from Pontiac Northern, Assistant Principal Edward Dauw, Assistant Principal Smith Carson and Admin- istrative Assistant Harold Smead. With this new team of action-minded administrators, Cen- tral's aging edifice saw changes which revitalized it. It saw unity within Central as the youthful energy of its student body was channeled into competition between its three classes. The tradition of class officer elections was continued as the seniors chose john Mason as their president, the juniors chose Purvis Hunt and the sophomores chose Carol Washington. With active leaders and a united student body, Pontiac Central developed a new pride in its accomplishments. .,. W-'J' ' ' , '11-az' A in if I 1 ,TTNe'+upL,.,, 1445?
