-- wg-on P.H.S. WELCOMES MR. STALEY Pontiac Senior High School faculty members and students were happy lo welcome as their principal this fall Mr. Francis Staley. Mr, Staley came to P.H,S. with an excellent reputation as an educator and a friend. Having received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State Normal College and his Master of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, 'he started his teaching career at a country school and from there went to teach at Lincoln lunior High School- He was at the latter only a few months when he went to Whittier School as principal. He had been principal of Eastern Iunior High School for 13 years when he came to.Pontiac High this fall to succeed Iohn Thors, Ir. Mr. Staley married Betty Louise Potts in 1936, and they have three children: Frederick, 13: lames, four: and Lois Ann, one. Both boys share their father's enthusiasm tor sports which dates back to his high-school and college days. Lois Ann's interests are varied at this point, but one thing is certain, she's the pride of the family. His first year at Pontiac High has been most enjoyable Mr. Staley says. ISSISTANT PIIINIIIPILS , 7915, C. T. FORSMAN Assistant Principal Mr. C. T. Forsman has very capably served as assistant principal tor nine years. Students perhaps know him best as an interested and conscientious ad- visor. Student Council members know him well. tor he supervises their meet- ings and helps them conduct the annual magazine drive. Mr. Forsman came to P.H.S. in 1930 to teach social science and has Bachelor of Arts and Master ot Arts degrees from the University of Michigan. He has enjoyed over the years a very pleasant and friendly relationship with students and faculty and emphasizes this with, And I really mean it! Mr. and Mrs. Forsrnan are looking forward to visiting Europe this summer. Their daughter Gwen Ellen Harrington, who graduated from P.H,S., is currently living in Ulm, Germany. RUSSELL W. CURTIS Secondary Coordinator Butler University, A.B., M.A. DONALD E. MCCRACKEN Assistant Principal Mr. Donald McCracken became assist- ant principal this lall when increased enrollment necessitated the need lor two assistants. Prior to this, he served as Attendance Counselor. Mr. McCracken has good reason lor thinking Pontiac High is one of the finest schools in the country, lor he graduated from here and started teaching here following college. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College and his Master of Arts degree from Wayne University. When Now hear this comes over the public address system, students know that Mr, McCracken will be giv- ing the announcements for the day. That and Now you have it are genially mimicked by many students. Mr. McCracken married the former Bernice Irwin in 1937.
