GUR LAST RESPECTS By a Teacher By a Student y W. N. VIOLA The sudden death of NVillian1 N. Viola came with a distinct sense of shock and personal loss, not only to all his associates young and old in Pontiac High School, but to this community as a. whole. For more than twenty years he Carried on his educational work in our midst w-ith a loyalty, devotion and success that only a fine teacher could achieve. Perhaps we can pay him no higher tribute than this - that he was, in every sense of the word, a real teacher. He gave of his knowledge, his time and his strength unstintingly. He loved his workg he loved his pupils in that work. Friend, counselor, guide, hundreds of one-time pupils will regret his passing. Safe in their hearts, they will grant him that earthly immortality that love alone can give. - M. B. Dewagon XVe have been burdened with a sorrow For a friend to us sovdear l-Ias gone to meet his Maker And Gabriel to hear. He has gone to join the angels In the Heavenly Choir, For when you hear the call of God, Your days on earth expire. He's gone to St. Peter At the Golden Gate, For he had an appointment - He couldn't be late. So don't mourn, my friends, All the day throughg For that, day is coming, For me and for you. When we too must yield To the voice of God, And on the Golden Street With our friend we'll trod. - Ed Haskins .O
