OHN THORS, R., Princi' al . . P .lohn Thors, -Ir., principal of Pontiac High since l930, received both his Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from the University ol' Michigan. He had been assistant principal here for live years when he was made principal. Because of his keen interest in all the students and their activities, he has brought harmony and cooperation throughout the school. NORMAN H. KUIKIAI..-X, Asst. Principal Tl1e second capable assistant principal is Nornian H. Kuijala, who is in charge of at- tendance. Before coming here he taught 12 years at Berkley High School and Was prin- cipal of both XfVisncr and McConnell schools. Mr. Kuijala attended the University of Michi- gan, where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. CARI. T. FORSMAN, Assl. Primipnl One ol Mr. Thor's able assistants is Carl T. Forsnian, who has the assistant principal's desk connected with the main office. Mr. Forsinan attended the University of Michigan, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Master ol Arts degrees. fl ADMI ISTR TOR Pontiac Senior High is a large school, its 2,400 students keep it overflowing ' with activity for eight hours a day and sometimes many more than that. And who are behind these students day in and day out, looking after their interests? - the administrators, to keep affairs running smoothly, the teachers, to promote learningg the office personnel, to check records for everyone, the maintenance staff, to keep the building in the best condition, and the women in the cafeteria, who see that everyone in the school, from lowliest underclassmen to highest administrator, gets that much-needed noonday nourishment. FRANK LI. DUFRAIN, Superintendent Frank DuFrain has been superintendent of the Pontiac schools since July, 1945. Prior to taking this position he was principal of Pontiac High and also assistant superinten- dent of schools. In preparation for this work Mr. DuFrain attended Illinois State Normal University for two yearsg University of Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degreesg and Columbia Uni- versity, where he received a second Master of Arts degree. JAMES C. COVERT, Supe1'1'nte71de11t A man who is a friend of everyone is James C. Covert, assistant superintendent of schools. Formerly in charge of lfVaterford schools and assistant principal of Pontiac High, Mr. Cov- ert attended Michigan ,College of Mining at Houghtong Michigan State Normal College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree: 'and the University of Michigan, where he received his Master of Arts degree.

EARL C. RUSSELL Earl C. Russell is director of Vocational Edu- cation, Adult Education, and Coordinate Ac- tivities. A member of the Pontiac School Sys- tem for over 25 years, Mr. Russell prepared for this work by attending N'Vestern Michigan Col- lege, Hlheaton College, University of Michigan, and the University of Detroit. VOCATIONAL COORDINATORS PAUL ALLISON Patil Allison, of the Child Accounting Bureau of Pontiac City Schools, graduated from Mich- igan State Normal College and received his Bachelor of Science degree from WVayne Uni- versity. Mr. Allison not only checks on truants from Pontiac High School, but from all Pontiac city schools. H ER BERT A. CARTER Herbert A. Carter, director of the Veteran's Institute, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from XVestern Union College Le Mars, Iowa. He received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
