Einar 1321 Since the earliest Y , P ant part in the lives of all peoples. Athletics ranked high in ancient culture, and early ideals have been handed down to modern times. As in all ages, we in America today put athletics in a place of honor. In our own city the citizens have shown whole hearted interest in sports, and their splendid support has helped our school to win its hne name. The people of Pontiac have demonstrated enthusiasm for competitive activity by their cooperation in building the Wisner Memorial Stadium, by their large attendance at games, and by their promotion of the principles of good sportsmanship. Recognizing that recreation is important to all persons, and that sports are essential in recreation, we dedicate the l947 edition of the Quiver to Sports -the hobby and pastime of millions. This dedication is made with a fervent hope that American and World Sports may always be conducted in a spirit of cooperation, fair play, and honesty.
