There were taricil stall. SECRETARIAL STAFF As I look back on my first days at Northern I remember all the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the secretaries here. When lwas sent to the office on an errand for one of my teachers, I was thankful that they were there to smile and say, MY I help you? , And as I continued through my years there were many more instances when they came to my assistance. They were never too busy with their typing or with theirfiling to stop and help any student. Whether in the attendance office, main office, or in the bookstore, they were always therewith a friend- ly smile willing to help the students. They never seemed to complain andthey always had a smile. Their services are so valuable to a school because without them and the work they do we could never have any activities and dances. lcan't remember ever seeing Northern not clean and shining, always making a good impression on everyone who has ever visited it. For this, we thank them. Scouring unclean drinking tountains and dusting lockers were two ot the easier tasks of the matron, Mrs. Snyder. We never seemed ta realize that the messes we caused were taken care ot by this lone woman. She was always quite busy and onthe move as she attempted to keep up with us.
