Kojm was born in Cheekto- waga New York, and was educated in the public school system of his hometown. Upon gradua- tion from Dartmouth College in 1947, Captain Kojm served in the naval transport USS President Jackson and the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt prior to attending Sub- marine School. Subsequent duty in submarines has included tours in USS Requin, USS Cobbler and on the Staff of Commander Submarine Squadron Six. Following postgraduate studies at Boston Uni- versity in 1956, where he was awarded a Mas- ters of Science degree in Public Relations, he reported to the Staff of Commander Submarine Force, U. S. Atlantic Fleet. He then served as Executive Officer in USS Bergall and'USS Threadfin. In August 1960, he was assigned to the Command and Staff Course at the U. S. Na- val War College. Following this, in 1961, he re- ported as Commanding Officer USS Sea Poacher. In 1963, he returned to the Staff of Commander Submarine Forces, U. S. Atlantic Fleet as Assistant Plans Officer and Public Af- fairs Officer. He was then assigned to the Na- val War College, Naval Warfare Course. Upon graduation in 1966, he was assigned as Chief Staff Officer on the Staff of Commander Subma- rine Squadron Four. In 1967 he was assigned as Commander Submarine Squadron One at Pearl Harbor. Captain Kojm assumed command of Ponchatoula in November 1968. He has since reported to Washington D. C. as Director of Na- val Liaison to the United States Senate.

Captain T. F. Dedman entered the Navy from his native city of Los Angeles California, in December of 1943. After duty with the NROTC program at the Universities of Kansas and Colorado, Captain Dedman entered the U. S. Naval Academy, and was commissioned an En- sign in June of 1947. A tour as CIC Officer aboard the USS Oak- land was followed by duty with the Seventh Fleet Staff in Tsingtao, China. Captain Dedman then entered flight training in early 1949, and was designated a naval aviator in October 1950. After furthur training in carrier all- weather fl ying in F6F aircraft at Key We st Florida, Captain Dedman reported to Attack Squadron 35 at Sanford, Florida. While on this assignment, he flew the AD Skyraider aircraft, and participated in several deployments with Air Group 3 embarked in USS Leyte to both the Mediterranean and Pacific areas, as well as a round-the-world cr ui se aboard USS Tarawa. Captain Dedman attended the U. S. Naval Post- graduate School at Monterey, California for two years, and in June 1957, completed a third year at Princeton University, where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Engineering. Captain Dedman returned to Sanford, Flor- ida in 1957, and entered the Heavy Attack pro- gram, flying the Douglas A3B Skywarrior air- craft in HATRON 5 and HATRON 3, and deploy- ing to the Mediterranean aboard the attack car- rier Forrestal as an element of Carrier Air- wing 10. After graduating from the Naval War Col- lege in June 1961, Captain Dedman reported to the Bureau of Naval Weapons, where he served in the Attack Design Branch as project officer for the RA5C Vigilante aircraft. Captain De dm an reported to Whidbey Is- land, Washington in June 1963 for refresher training in A3B aircraft, and in November 1963 joined HATRON 10 as Operations Officer. After later serving as Executive Officer, Captain Dedman assumed command of HATRON 10 in August 1964 while aboard USS Constellation in the Tonkin Gulf, where the squadron partici- pated in reconnaissance operations over Laos and Vietnam, and in support operations during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. After completing the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in June 1966, Captain Ded- man served as Executive Officer of the USS Pickaway, an amphibious troop transport oper- ating in support of III MAF in Vietnam. Captain Dedman reported to Ponchatoula from duty in Washington where he served as Assistant Deputy Director of Navy Program Planning, and later as Executive Assistant and Senior Aide to the Vice Chief of Naval Opera- tions.
