Our second grade teacher was Jean Wente left us this year. I A In the third grade four new members joined us They were ,W f' 311 DOD Waage. Norma also rejoined us. Our teacher was ' In the fourth grade Charles Thomas became one of g. was ou t h Charles Thomas left us and Margaret Degan became one of ther-tribe: :Tnxthe fifth grade. Mrs. Taplett taught us again this year. Frank Willett, Darlene Jennings, and Darlene Watchorn joined us in the sixth grade- We 10513 Margaret Degan this year. Our sixth and seventh grade teacher W8 S ag? We lost four members of our class in the seventh grade. Roy I., Don W., Darlene J., and Darlene W. left us. Loyd came back to us this year and has been a faithful member of the tribe ever since. G During our last year in grade school we lost Frank W. and Gary M. Jim decided he knew enough so he left , Edith moved to California, and Don decided he wanted to try a big high school. was our sponsor. During our sophomore year Orville, Cleta, Kenneth, and Norma strayed from the tribe. Don decided he liked the faces and places around Ponca High. Tom Hogan Y-joined for parts of our sophomore and junior years. Coach Pearson was our sponsor this year. A During our junior year ,.- gained a new student and lost Jean, Gerry, Betty, and Tom. Our sponsor was i':i We gave 3 one-act plays in November and held our annual Slouch Day. We toured Morningside College in Sioux City. We gave a banquet to the seniors ' ....:. 5 I rra' in April. The theme was Jungle Treasures. Cf the eleven that started t school that first mo ng, five have remained loyal to the halls of PHS. They are - C. . , .JC , -azzy ,,:,1 .. This leaves 19 as the graduating class of 1955. if -11' This year was packed full of wonderful memories. We had a class play and the juniors a wond ful banquet in the spring. We also had Sneak Day.
