Through the years the oil business has become a mainstay in our nation's economy. City owes its own measure of thanks to the oil companies in this area. For through them our has become the progressive, thriving city it is today. . Businessmen, intrigued by the call of a town booming with oil, came to this area to make their homes. Through the years the increasing number of men and women required in the field of oil has made our population grow by leaps and bounds. ln the future still more people will be affiliated with the petroleum industry and will be moving to this area. Besides promoting competition and better business, the oil world has brought a great deal of civic aid to the inhabitants of Ponca City. Because of this assistance we have a fine ball park, numerous recreational areas, a better school system, more educational scholarships, and a bright future for the Ponca City youth. To express widespread community appreciation, the i958 CAT TALE is dedicated to an industry which properly merits such an honor. Proudly we offer our oil progress edition to the students of Ponca City High School.
