OUR MISS BROOKS-JUNIOR PLAY The story revolves around the difficulties of English teacher, Miss Brooks, portrayed by Martha Frederick, and athletic coach, Hugo Longacre, played by Jim Woelfel. The differences are over the use of the school gym for senior play practices. Trouble really starts when Ted, played by Dick Spradlin, the star player of the basketball team, decides to try out for the play. Kenneth Slavin portrays our beloved principal, Mr. Wadsworth. Other members of the faculty are played by Jean Forbis and Donna Kay Allen as Miss Finch and Miss Audubon. Cast as students trying out for the senior play are Carolyn Gentner, Carol Clodfelter, Carol Hedges, Della Carson, Char- lene Johnson, Lucerne Parks, Nancy Smith, Carol Ann Daven- port, Don Puddy, and Dale Voss. A mother of one of the students, Mrs. Allen, is portrayed by Beverly Boterf. Directing the Junior Play is Bill Arnold with the help of student director Joan Marshall, prompters Annette Cook and Marilyn Basham, business manager Roger Kaesler and prop- erties manager Marva Jean Fox. l N +-'N - ' xv? -,....,n - , 5-N Sgt, SENIOR PLAY This play integrates the ludicrously confusing life of an elderly millionaire widow, Mrs. Savage, portrayed by Coleen Struble, her admittance to a private mental institution, The Cloisters, and the problem of finding the fabulous fortune in bonds she has hidden. Her greedy children, Senator Titus Savage played by Bill Boaz, Judge Samuel Savage, portrayed by Bob Boaz, and her daughter Lily Belle, played by Jean Martin, are implicated in a number of socially degrading plots in their efforts to find the bonds. Robert Maris, cast as Dr. Emmet, tries to keep peace between the two factions. The body of the play concerns the madcap capers of the guests of the Cloisters. These are: Don Jaeger cast as Jeffry, Bob Hunter cast as Hannibal, Kathleen Haynes as Fairy Mae, and Dorothy Davidson portraying Florence. Clarice Braker plays the nurse, Miss Wilhelmina. Bill Arnold is also directing this play. Anne Sutton fills the position of student director and the prompters are Adonna Flynt and Janette Swalley. Roger Trengove serves as Business Manager and Helen Rowan as Property Manager. m cf' X l l F Orchestra DON JAEGER presudenf Vnollns J Forbls councll H Coffman W Long T Spencer C Sanders council P Marhn J Wndeman K Eastnn Vnolas C Strahan vrce presudent D Jaeger presndent D Timberlake A Mock C Marhn Cellos L Walser B Lenhart secretary M Luckmbnll Basses D Pate H Rowan council T Paulson Not Pictured K Slavnn cello librarian C Hedges piano 'YWVY ln-Q---A on the Honor -1.4- .t., -., . ...f .una-1 i I 2 I ' I g ' I I . The close of the season left them in possession of the Conference, District and Regional Championship Crowns. It was the third consecutive year that the Wildcats had qualified for the state championship play-off series. The loss to Altus in the semi-final game was the second loss sustained on the home field in three years play and closed out the most success- ful three year period in P.C.H.S. history. An excellent team spirit, a stellar defensive unit, and brilliant offensive play in key games marked the '53 team as one of the school's finest. The year also saw the new south bleachers oc- cupied by our fine band, a highly enthusiastic student body, and the largest Dynamiter organization ever assembled for the Red and Blue. fs.-. ' X.
