ll. F. A. The Future Farmers of America is one of the largest and most active organiza- tions in Ponca High. The club conducts numerous field trips, sight seeing trips, and other tours, as well as attending various public sales. The F. F. A. farm, which is located northeast of town, is one oi the many outstanding achieve- ments of the club. The farm is run on cooperative basis with all the members participating in carrying out the work. All of the profit which is derived is returned to the organizations treasury. Not only do the boys work on this farm, but they carry out home projects as well These projects are divided into two groups: Supervised practice projects, and improvement projects. An example ol the first group would be a case in which a boy owned and raised a hog at his own expense and derived all the profit himself. Examples of the second group are barn building, terrace construction, solving soil reclamation problems, and any other work which is directed toward improvement rather than profit. The F. F. A. has a definite plan of advancement. The local degrees are Green Hand and Future Farmer. The state degree is Iunior Master Farmer, and the national degree is American Farmer, The F , F. A, is an outstanding organization of which we should all be proud. Back Row: Raymond Schiltz, Floyd Culp, Dick Bulford, R. O. Spencer, H. H.
