NHS gets the “Erge” for a dance The National Honor Society, responding to the students demands, held the first dance of the year. A popular local band, “The Erge’”’, played and everyone had an enjoyable eve- ning. The dance was especially for the ben- efit of new NHS members, but was open to all of the Pompano High students. Color Day begins Homecoming 1971 Homecoming week was started off with the traditional blue and gold day, where stu- dents all dressed in Pompano’s school col- ors. Mr. and Miss Blue and Gold were cho- sen from many contestants. Because of the construction, the halls could not be deco- rated, but the night before the game, Pom- pano-spirited students decorated the foot- ball stands.
