Stud nt Advisors Do you ever feel like you just can't cope with the pressures of being in high school? If so, the Student Advisors are there to help. Under the guidance of Mr. Marsico and Ms. Nelson, these students learn communication skills, counseling techniques, and self- concept building. ln turn, they act as advisors to their peers, other students at P.H.S. This year's Student Advisors were: Beth Basset, Susie Bruhn, Michelle Bruno, Jay Cayton, Betsy Connell, Chris Cowles, Cheryl Dienst, Tammy Hall, Stefforn Hobbs, Michelle Medrano, Martha Peterson, Tammy Poggenpohl, Genene Sherry, and Mark Turner. We would like to extend our thanks to these dedicated students for being there when we needed them, throughout the year, to give us a helping hand. gn is 262 Spirit Club WWW Win-ana Spirit Club . . . they did just what their name implies . . .they promoted spirit and support throughout the year and school for the athletic events that Pomona participated in. Spirit Club did a great job this year . . . all one hundred and sixty of them! Along with Coach Madden, the officer, Cheryl Uintergardt, Cynthia Lloyd, Phyllis Murray, and Dawn Stubert, activated the group to plan Spirit Week events and assemblies not yet forgotten, various fund raisers throughout the year, and much more. Undoubtedly, our athletes are thankful to you for all your undying support!

Close-Up Six P.H.S students went to Washington D.C. on the Close-Up Program this year. Close-Up, is a national program that offers a chance to study the work- ings of our government in depth each year to interested students. This year Mark DeLeon, John Emry, Christine Howard, Tammi Mettler, Tedd Sabus, and Willis Scharmer attended. They met with the Colorado Congressional Delegation and speakers knowledgeable about the ways of our government. The students also discussed domestic issues and foregin policy with these people. They attended a dinner theater which featured the musical Gypsie . The members were also free to explore Washington. The trip was rounded up with a banquet at their hotel.
