Home Ec. doesn't just involve cooking and sewing, two clubs within the depart- cupations QFHAXHEROJ. These clubs provided students with a chance to serve the community, experience on the job training, and provide its members with techniques for cooking and properly eating food. Along with an unending list of individual activities, these groups prepared and served a country dinner in honor of opening night of Music Man. They both went to major Home Economics convention in March where all their knowledge was used. The group's main goal was to gain better communications in the school and home atmospheres. At meetings, discussions went on about impor- tant school issues where parents, students, and teachers alike were able to voice their opinions. This year's officers were: Kathy Williams, President, John Musciano, lst Vice President, Beverly Connell, 2nd Vice President, Joan Murnan, Secretary, and Maxine Carlson, Treasurer. MDE DECA IDE and DECA were organizations within the Business Department for those students interested in careers in marketing and istribution. Members participated in a number of activities including the State Leadership Conference held in October which las attended by five members, and the District Four elections, also held in October. Eight members attended. Next came the istrict Four Leadership Training Conference held in January. Fourteen students attended the conference and six qualified for 1e State Leadership Conference held at the Broadmoor in March. They were joined there by three other club members. The year me to a close with the annual Employer Appreciation Banquet which was held at Boulder's Dinner Theatre. One hundred and irty students, employers, and staff members attended the banquet where employers were presented with plaques of apprecia- on by their student employees.
