Helene shows Panther pride Panthers up for the jump The coaches watch wlth antlclpatlon U Erln takes a free throw shot The team plans their attack The Pomona Varsity Girls' Basketball Team posted the best record in the history of the school, winn- ing ten games. The Panthers were led by Ann Scott who was MVP for the team. She was also voted all- conference by unanamous choice and was all-state selection to play in the all-state game June 11. The reason for the Panthers' success and Ann Scott's success was the unselfish play of other team members such as Helene Meagher, Rene Artman, Pam Lillard, and Candy Quimby. Erin Iwata, Sharon White, Tia Showalter, and Deanne Dickens also played well for the Panthers. Pomona beat Alameda in the sub-district tournament and then lost to 4A- State Champion Wheatridge. Coach Hicks was very proud of the achievements of the 1981-82 team and very pleased with the effort. 199

is Panther stretches durlng game Jenny clings to the ball The Pomona Junior Varsity Girls' Basket- ball Team enjoyed the most successful season in the history of the school, posting a record of 17 wins against 1 loss. In the championship game against Arvada, the Panthers dominated to prevail as Jeffco J.V. Champions 53-49. The 1981-82 team provided Pomona with its first J.V. Cham- pionship. Efforts by such players as Stacey Kloberdanz, Traci Kline, Lisa Robles, Jenny Fessenden, and Jayne Boh lead the team to victory. Coach John Adsit praised his team's effort in practice as well as games. Other team members were Lisa Romero, Diane Weits, and Laura Martich. A proud Panther coach shows Intent for the team 5 was ie!
