Indeed, such programs have been described as stuffy, dull. uninspired, and irrelevent. Perhaps this verdict reflects the reality that man's past is characteristically a dusty and plodding process complete with the error of unlearned lessons and the subsequent repetition of effort. It is curious that something so kaleidoscopic as life is frequently faulted as being nothing more that a lying down and a rising up.
