l96 Sports The l980-81 Pomona High School Wrestling Team overcame key injuries and winter ill- nesses to once again achieve prominence in Jefferson County and recognition in the state. The Varsity completed its Hrst unde- feated season to win its first Jefferson Coun- ty League Championship. But. injuries to key wrestlers at the District Tournament caused the team to finish second and earn the han- dle of being snake bitten . Four wrestlers competed in the State Tournament and de- spite injuries, were able to place fourth. The leadership provided by seniors Jim Buckner and Pat Cain was exceptional.
