M E RD WLMKSM FOR WO .y f W Midway in the month of September when everyone is wondering who will compete in the World Series, and the football season is getting underway, boys and girls from eighteen outlying communities gather in the green-walled auditorium of Pomona Catholic to begin another year of formal education. Enkindled within this group of students is a spark which will soon develop into a glowing fire known as school spirit. It is this spirit that moves with us through Pomona Catholic from 8:30 to 3:00 each day. We know this spirit in the hustled chapel call each morning and in the classes, assemblies, rallies, and track meets. We know this spirit on Friday nights as we yell our throats dry watching our Spartans match forces with rival teams. This spirit is the driving force that manifests itself in the mission drive, in the Homecoming dance, in the student- sponsored Fiesta, and even, if you will, in the screeching of brakes on Williams Street at the end of the school day. School Spirit is that something intangible, yet intensely real, that is poured into day after day of our school life.
