Interest was high. and another first- place rating was given to the paper hy Colum- hia Scholastic Press. With l.um as Editor. Ben as Managing Copy Editor, Bill and Wally as Sports and Headline 8 Photo Editors respec- tively and Brel as Business Manager. Pomfret journalism was hetter than ever. How this was accomplished in the chaos and confusion of the messy 'Polity' room is a mystery. Each issue found the editors staying up later to 'put the paper to hedf hut to hed it eventuallv went. and out it inevitahlx' came. not always on time to he sure. Perhaps a glance at the hocus-pocus used to put out an issue will explain the situation: Saturday: All four editors make up paper and assign articles. Morirlny: Editor changes make- up. Managing Editor pacifies Editor. who lets off steam in a letter to himself. or in an editorial. Sports Editor writes column. Head- line X Photo Editor finishes cuts. starts doing heads. .Ilon11ay.' Editor and HSI' Editor toast rising sun with hottle of Coke, send final proofs to printer and sleep through first four periods. TllllfS!l'llvI'.' Page-proofs return. Editor Changes make-up again and sends them hack. Slllllfllfl-I'.' To everyone's amazement. Ponlejrucf comes out.
