Masters, and lloys of l'omfret School: Every class linally arrives at the day of its graduation from Pomfret, For us, the class of l'93ll. the day is one of great moment. XVe realize that our diplomas have for many years been the goal of our eH'orts. and we are happy and proud to attain them. llut the thought that perhaps the happiest days in our lives must soon become a memory sends a pang of regret through every one of us. To Mr. Lefferts and to those who are to work with him. we wish a year. as rich in success, as the most fortunate years Pomfret has ever had. We are extremely grateful to the School as a whole. whose co-operation with us, and whose loyalty and fidelity to l'omfret, have largely contributed to the satisfactory outcome of the year. Unity, which is so vital, has never been found wanting. We extend to the Masters our sincere thanks for their constant friendship and their unseltish efforts in our behalf. lt is hard for us to express the gratitude and appreciation, which we owe to you, Hrs. Ulmsteadg for your kindness has ever been the greatest part of our happiness here at Pomfret. The memory of what you have done for us will be one we shall always cherish. Mr. Langdon, you have our deepest gratitude for your contribution to our years at l'omfret. We have constantly sought your sympathetic understanding and guidance and have never failed to find them. The death of Mr. Olmsted came as a personal loss to every one of us. ln him we had found our ideal: for his own ideals. both for us and for l'omfret, were the highest any man could have. To you, who next year will become leaders, we entrust his memory. which shall always be an inspiration to every l'onitret boy anl a guiding light to the School. 121
