Assisted by the Mandolin and Glee Clubs, the cast of the play was successful in entertaining the manv ffuests and alumni ol the school who were present for Thanksffiving. - bv 6 The Haunted House . a farce in three acts by Owen Davis, was, perhaps. one of the most cleverly written plays that has ever been presented at Pomfret. The plot ot the play concerns the adventures oi a newly married couple who start to spend their honeymoon in a supposedly haunted house. True to its reputation, the house does give forth mysterious tappings and groans, and, to further add to their misery, they find them- selves in the midst of a mystery. A strange young' woman is supposed to have been brutally killed and almost the whole cast is, at one time or another, suspected of the crime. When, however. the murdered woman appears safe and sound, it is finally ascertained that the dead person is, after all, only a cow. 102
