.T Xlllin ff , Jfzacfa, .Tao in fialk 1958 Jkfun Fall sports at Polytechnic were highlighted by championships in football, lightweight basket- ball, and cross country track. It is only fitting that this section be introduced by the photograph on these pages showing one thrilling second from the Poly-St. Ignatius football game. The Wildcats were defeated 9-6 in what was the most hard-fought game of the 1958 season. Fullback Gary Lewis is seen here breaking away for some eight yards after getting some good blocking from team mates. In line with the School Daze theme, this section covers some of the high- lights in Poly's successful fall semester in sports. Poly continued to be the leading ath- letic school in San Francisco.
